Before Surgery: Consultation & Planning
Before the procedure, we will discuss your wishes and expectations in a personal consultation. After carefully examining your facial contours and neck area, I will create your individual treatment plan. I will explain the surgical procedure step by step and provide you with all the information you need about the procedure, anesthesia, and aftercare. Of course, I will take enough time to answer all your questions at your leisure.
What you should keep in mind before the surgery:
- Do not take any blood-thinning medication such as aspirin or ibuprofen for 10 days before the operation.
- Refrain from alcohol and nicotine.
- Do not eat anything for 6 hours before the operation.
- Please come without makeup on the day of the operation.
A surgical procedure requires careful and individual preparation. All details will be discussed during a thorough consultation. This includes a complete medical history, a physical examination, and, if necessary, additional tests such as blood tests or a medical clearance certificate for the surgery.
During Surgery: Gentle & Effective
The facelift and neck lift are performed in a clinic with an overnight stay. A small drain is inserted, which is removed the next day. You can rest in a comfortable atmosphere and will be discharged the next morning.
Depending on the complexity of the procedure, it is performed under twilight sedation or general anesthesia. The incisions are strategically placed so that the scars remain as inconspicuous as possible. A precise incision technique is crucial to avoid an artificial, overstretched result. After lifting the skin, the underlying tissue is tightened, excess skin is removed, and the skin is gently repositioned without tension. After about 4 hours, the procedure is complete and you can begin your recovery.
After Surgery: Aftercare & Healing Process
Immediately after the operation, you will be given cooling compresses to counteract redness and swelling.
In the days following a face and neck lift, swelling, bruising, and a slight numbness may occur in the treated area. This is completely normal and can be alleviated by sufficient cooling. The fine sutures will be removed after about 10 days.
Your Recovery Guide: Tips for Optimal Healing
- Get plenty of rest and sleep in an elevated position to minimize swelling.
- Do not exercise for at least 2 weeks.
- Avoid bathing and swimming until the wound has healed completely.
- Do not wear makeup for at least 2 weeks.
After two weeks, you will be fit for everyday life again, and after 3–6 months, you can expect to see the final results.
